Len Beer Memorial Lecture: One Thousand Shades of Green: A Year in Search of Britain's Wild Plants, Mike Dilger

Taking in city centres, mountain tops and every conceivable habitat in between, Mike’s big botanical year was not just an opportunity to celebrate the beauty, diversity and rarity of the nation’s plants, but also to assess how our fascinating flora is faring in modern Britain.

When taking on the challenge, Mike initially thought searching for plants would be the gentlest of pursuits, but, transformed into a botanical bloodhound, he somehow managed to risk life and limb during his relentless quest of all things green. He wrote a book about his adventures, One Thousand Shades of Green.

He is coming to talk to us about the quest, along with tales of his career as a television presenter and wildlife filmmaker.

Ticket price: £8 plus booking fee for members of FTBG or AGS (use Contact Usabove to ask for discount code);
