Alpine Garden Society meeting with talk: “Costing the Earth”

Dr. Jones taught outdoor education for several years before moving to work in conservation in Scotland and in North Wales.  For eleven years she was the Countryside Council for Wales’s Upland Ecologist, involved in commissioning research and advising on conservation and management of the Welsh uplands as well as completing a PhD researching the ecology, genetics and population dynamics of the Snowdon Lily.

She continues to work with different organisations on the conservation of mountain flora and on conservation issues more generally. She has appeared on TV programmes as “the strange woman who hangs off ropes looking at plants in the mountains”!
